Hello,
MARPE (Miniscrew-Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion) can be a very effective treatment for young adults with a narrow upper jaw, crossbite, crowding, or transverse maxillary deficiency. At 18 years of age, you may still be a good candidate, but suitability depends on a detailed clinical examination and CBCT evaluation.
If your concern is an asymmetrical palate, MARPE alone may or may not fully correct the asymmetry. The treatment plan depends on whether the asymmetry is skeletal, dental, or related to jaw position. In some cases, additional orthodontic treatment with braces or aligners may be required after expansion.
I would recommend consulting an Orthodontist for:
⢠Clinical examination
⢠CBCT scan evaluation
⢠Assessment of skeletal maturity
⢠Comprehensive treatment planning
The cost varies significantly depending on the complexity of the case, type of MARPE appliance used, and the need for further orthodontic treatment.

Next Steps
Consult an Orthodontist and get a CBCT scan done to determine whether MARPE is the most suitable option for your case.
Health Tips
The earlier skeletal expansion is evaluated in young adults, the higher the chances of achieving successful non-surgical expansion.
