Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician.
I understand your concern. Hemorrhoids usually cause pain or discomfort around the anal region, but the spasms on the left lower abdomen with burping and the burning sensation in urine may point to other causes as well, such as gastritis, urinary tract infection, or bowel-related spasm.
â
Advices
⢠Drink at least 2.5 to 3 liters of water daily to reduce both constipation and urinary burning
⢠Eat a high-fiber diet with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to avoid straining during stools
⢠Avoid spicy, oily food and carbonated drinks which can increase burping and gastric discomfort
What to Monitor
⢠Changes in stool pattern â constipation, blood in stools, or severe straining
⢠Persistent burning in urine, frequency, or urgency
⢠Abdominal pain getting severe or radiating
Management
For now, continue sitz baths and stool softeners if prescribed for hemorrhoids. For burning urine, a simple urine routine and culture test may be needed to rule out infection. For spasms and burping, antacids or antispasmodics may be prescribed after evaluation.
When to Consult a Doctor Immediately
⢠If you develop high fever, severe abdominal pain, or vomiting
⢠If burning in urine worsens or blood appears in urine
⢠If hemorrhoid pain increases with fresh bleeding despite treatment
Every patientâs situation is unique. Based on your symptoms, it is advisable to get a urine test and abdominal examination to confirm the exact cause and treat accordingly.
