Sorry to hear about the trouble your little one has had.
There are various causes for low platelets and looks like the doctors have tried to increase the counts without trying to address the causes of low platelets in the first place.
Hope he was well at birth and infection/sepsis can cause low platelets, those usually recover.

There is a condition called NAIT which can cause lingering low platelets in newborns, that can be ruled in or ruled out by a trained Neonataologist/ Paediatric Haematologist.
Sometimes if the baby was really small at birth, the neonatologist can test for maternal infections ( tOrCh) infections which have other subtle features apart from Low platelets.
In summary- seen review for a good Paediatrci Haematologist.
