Low platelet when randomly checked
Hello Doctors, I am bit worried. As a part of office health check I got my cbc a month back and my platelet was 150000, sgpt 48. I repeated it 2 days back and platelet is 125000, sgpt 50. Followed with US for abdomen for liver test and everything is normal. Got PT/INR done and it's normal. HBA1C, Thyroid & lipid is normal. CBC normal, ESR normal. There was a 7.5% of ectopic beats(APCs) in ecg & 24 hr holter last month so taking concur 2.5 mg from 3 weeks. No other medication and no other symptoms.
My question and worry is about platelet. Why it is on a declining trend. Historically, my platelets has always been in the normal range. I.e above 2.5lac always. Do I need any more evaluations here?
I do not drink, do not smoke. Height 6', weight 62kg. Had mild covid in January this year.

What I know is that both reports ,
1,50,000 and 1,25,000 are normal. You can undergo any Surgery with this level of platelets.
And then your PT/INR are normal. So you can forget about platelet count.
If anything , you should be more worried about ectopic beats (and they are also APCs).
So you are safe. Be happy.

1.5L platelet count is in the normal range. I wouldn't call it a declining trend based on only 2 data points. However, people from the West Bengal region can have relatively low platelet count compared to the general population. They often have a platelet count of 1-1.5L normally. If you don't have any other symptoms like fever and rashes you need not be worried with a platelet count of 1.25L.
Next Steps
You can repeat the (CBC)complete blood count test again after 2 days, if it shows a declining trend again then further investigation and detailed history will be required.

Avoid activities that can cause bruising or bleeding. In case of rashes, bruises or bleeding please report to the nearest emergency room.

Platelet count is above one lakh so no need to worry.. Low platelet count is of multiple reasons like fever, vit B12 deficiency and idiopathic..
Post your entire CBC report so that it will help in further workup..
