Loose Motion for 1 day
My son has got Vomiting but that's stopped now after giving Emeset and Cyclopam. But loose motion is not getting stopped since almost a day. Doctor advised to give Enterogermina Vials, Probiotics like Redotil, Orflox, Babygesic for fever, Zinc Soln. Motion is mostly watery. It happens every now and then. Whatever he eats he does the motion immediately. Can someone please help.. How long does this take to stop ? He passed urine normally. I'm also giving ORS as much as possible. But he doesn't like it but we force and give him. Can anyone help us here. Any other medicines to be given to stop loose stools immediately ?
The normal course of a viral stomach infection is around 4 to 6 days. You can expect loose stools to last for a few more days. It doesn't matter how many stools he passes, the most important thing is to keep him hydrated by giving ORS and other fluids. Redotil is not recommended for use in children. Orflox is meant for bacterial stomach infection that usually manifests with blood in stools.

Hi htere,
this is usually a viral infection & a self limiting condition requiring 2 to 6 days to settle down. No need for all these drugs. Just Give ORS to keep him well hydrated , Plenty of fluids, Paracetamol for fever and normal blend diet. I can not suggest you doses as there is no information of his age & weight. Take care.
