After the accident has she visited a physician or orthopaedic surgeon.Any xrays ?Even if it is not a bony injury it could be a ligamental tear. Do not ignore and get examined by a orthopaedic surgeon.

When did she have this accident or how old the injury is. As such it’s difficult to say. She needs to do an X-ray of affected knee from some lab. Till then take rest.
