Hi, my sister is 33 and in her last trimester. She is due in a month. Her blood reports just came yesterday, as attached. Her tsh is 4.96 (she has had hypothyroidism from before), her haemoglobin is 8.2, est is 66, rdw is 16.7, lymphocyte 41.6, rbc 3.57, platelet 299, unconjugated bilirubin 0.08, sgot 71.2, sgpt 89.6, alk. Phosphatase 149, t. Protein 5.93, albumin 3.25,A/G ratio 1.21. She had a bout of hyperacidity and excessive constipation 2-3 days before the blood test. She has very slight swelling in the legs and slight cold. Movement of the baby is fine. No other symptoms. Doctor has prescribed Uniliver 500 mg for 2 months and an intravenous injection for haemoglobin. She hasn't really shown any urgency.

The treatment being given is correct. She also needs BP and fetal monitoring for better management.

To diagnose cholestasis of pregnancy we need to do serum bile acids If we confirm cholestasis of pregnancy we need to decide on delivery based on serum bile acids levels Sometime even by 34-35 weeks Book a online consultation for further information
Next Steps
keep a count of fetal movement as this condition has risk of sudden fetal death
Health Tips
treatment provided is ok continue that till you get serum bile acid tested

Thyroid levels should be less than 3 in the trimester They are raised in case of your sister Her hemoglobin levels are too low Her liver enzymes are deranged This is called cholestasis of pregnancy Who hasn't shown urgency? The doctor or the patient? Cholestasis if untreated can lead to itrauterine fetal  demise The patient needs treatment you can connect for a prescription and delivery at 37 completed weeks
