It has antidepressant properties. You need to convey the symptoms, duration of illness and medications which have been tried before, the dose and time they have been given, whether they helped partially or fully? Without these passing an opinion wouldn't be correct

See there is unipolar depression which is your regular depression and bipolar depression which is a depressive episode occurring in someone with bipolar disorder. Treatments are very different for both. Lamotrigine is approved for use in bipolar depression and is also used in unipolar depression which does not respond to regular antidepressants. It is also used in epilepsy/seizure disorder
