Knees degenerate according to age, like wearing out of Car tyre. It doesn't happen overnight. It takes yrs to become symptomatic and many years, actually to cause disability. But, it gives early signals, in women above 40 and men above 50.
1st symptom is difficulty in getting up from squatting (Indian toilet) position, then getting up after prolonged sitting. When it degenerates, patient starts getting difficulty in climbing/descending stairs or requiring support while climbing on stool.
Initially, it is occasional incidence, frequency & duration increases over period of time.
Next Steps
If diagnosed and treated early, we can control this wearing out or this aging process. Even though I am Joint Replacement Surgeon for more than 25 yrs, I am famous for avoiding/postponing the Surgery. I have created a program of 'Save your Knees'
Health Tips
Initial treatment with Dolo will give temporary pain relief. But, as it is gradually increasing condition, needs to be paid attention to. It is like just filling up air in flattened, punctured wheel, without taking care of underlined issue. Also, depending solely on pain killers is not good. Unsupervised Pain killers, taken over long time can cause permanent damage to Kidneys.
