This could include: extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL). ureteroscopy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), open surgery.....The type of treatment you have will depend on the size and location of your stones.  Most kidney stones will be small enough (no more than 4mm or 0.2in in diameter) to be passed out in your urine. It may be possible to treat these at home....
