Kidney failure
One of my friends had a stone in his kidney.. So the left kidney's functions were not working due to stone & GFR of right kidmey is 5.76.And it also affected the right kidney also..we have done an operation for this stone.. But this operation was not helpful for us. After 2 days of operation, GFR level is 5.62 And urine is passing. Doctors has said kidney can't recover. Is there any scope for kidney refunctioning?
Please clarify whether the total GFR is 5.76, or the affected kidney has this value. If the value is that of serum creatinine, then we have a situation of chronic kidney disease stage 4 -5. If it's that of the affected kidney and overall serum creatinine is less, then your friend would need a nephrectomy.
