Hi,I have been suffering from itchy groin from 2 years.
First 6 month i have used strong steroid ointment like clobestol. Nearly 60 grams.
Then when i went to doctor, it was diagnosed as Tinea incognito and was given medication of antofungals i.e Onabet, ebernet and antifungal tablets like itraconazole.
Once skin is recovered and oral mediation is stolled, the issue starts again in 1 or 2 month and
the oral medication starts again. It went for 1.5 year. So i decided to stop medication and get it tested and went for koh test for fungus and no fungus found. So i went for biopsy ,no fungus found.
i dont understand if i dont have fungus, how Itraconazole worked.
Is there a chance that tests cant detect fungus.
Thanks for ur time

Fungal infection can easily diagnosed on inspection.
You are using topical potent steroid creams for longer duration.
Please stop using without prescription because long term and wrong use of these topical steroids can harm your skin instead of curing your disease .
