Although there is no problem when water goes in the ear with a normal, intact tympanic membrane. If there is some infection or the tympanic membrane is perforated then water should be strictly prevented from entering the ear. As per ua history you are not having any of these and water can enter your ear but still i advice you to not frequently wash your ear with water because the ear has its own natural cleaning mechanism. Especially the ear buds and matchsticks should never be put in the ear, there is a risk of tympanic membrane injury and also the natural cleaning mechanism ie epithelial migration is disturbed which leads to accumulation of debris and wax in the ear canal.
