Dear Sir, Madam I suffered a chronic anxiety since 7 years .I was on FLUOXITINE 60 mg but eventually found no use of that. Since days my Doctor has put me on CIPRALEX 10 M.G and later for 15MG from next week . Is it a best medicine for my case. I am also taking NITRAZEPAM 1 MG. I request someone to suggest on this. I posted this because most SSRIs are for prescribed for  depression in general. Regards on advance

Hello, SSRI are used both for depression and anxiety. The doses are increased to maximum tolerability level depending on response. Nitrazepam 10mg helps in anxiety as well as for sleep,. This medication will be eventually stopped once anxiety is controlled.

Hi Cipralex is good option for Anxiety as well. As you mentioned that SSRI are used in Depression, equally true is that SSRI are also used in anxiety. If one drug from SSRI doesn't work then change to another SSRI is tried. Hope this helps you. Thanks and regards.
