Is Beta HCG confirmatory for Pregnancy?

I had gotten my periods. Still the flow was a little less. Hence I did a Beta Hcg (Serum) It came negative. Is this test confirmatory? I have done it twice from metropolis and Apollo. Are these lab reports reliable?
