I have irregular periods and no pcod detected. Doctor prescribed Ovaral to regularise few years back but now I am trying to concieve and periods have not stopped for a week. Its not heavy but normal period. I am not sure if taking contraceptive is good option now. Please help.

First of all if you haven't used contraceptive this time and period has been delayed, and now have prolonged flow, do a urine pregnancy test. If it is negative, if your period doesn't stop in 10 days, you may require hormonal preparation to stop bleeding as it cud be likely due to absence of ovulation. An additional transvaginal pelvic scan could be more informative in that situation. This aids in appropriate treatment. If you stop bleeding, start on daily folic acid supplements to aid conception and do physical activity.

Hi. You can take Trapic 500 thrice a day for 3 days  to stop the bleeding . Next cycle do a scan on day5  before planning for preg .
