Intake of z & d drops
Hi, my daughter is 7months old. When she was 5 & 1/2 months old she had diarrhea.also she had teething problem.doc suggested z&drops and said to continue further for 6 months. Is this safe becoz another doc from different city said it should not b. I stopped giving this.teeth are continuously coming & she is again facing diarrhea.plz suggest
Z & D drops is basically zinc and it is safe but it is usually not used beyond 14 days for diarrhoea. Either way, in this age the frequency of stools is not important. What is important to note is that the baby should breastfeed well, pass enough urine and be active. If these things are fine then do not worry and avoid unnecessary medications. The stools will keep varying with growing age.
