Inguinal Hernia

2017-08-18 14:57:46
I had a CT done for a kidney stone and the report mentioned a "minimal right inguinal hernia, containing only fat". I'm not sure what it means by "minimal". The doctor did not mention it to me, I only saw it because I read the report.

Hello there. I can understand your concern. Minimal hernia would mean that it's just minimal and there is only fat as the content of hernial sac. Hernia is basically a weakness in the anterior abdominal wall. So don't do anything which would increase the intra abdominal pressure like weight lifting, straining for stools etc. Consult a general surgeon in person for further evaluation and management. Best regards.
