I have consulted many doctors for scaly, peeling skin which I've had since childhood. I have been told this is Ichthyosis which is a genetic condition without a permanent cure. Is there a thick moisturizer/ointment which helps to reduce the scaling and keep the skin moist? I have tried Cetaphil, Oillatum, Atoderm etc but none of them last more than a few hours. It is extremely inconvenient to keep reapplying the moisturizer every few hours.
