I think so Intercostal muscle issue

I was in gym and few days ago and doing some weight training(Leg Press) and suddenly i felt something torn from my lower left ribs. I can breathe properly with any pains it only pains when i cough or sneeze i got my X-ray done and ribs are fine its not fractured. So i went to my family doctor and he couldn't tell me what is it exactly and the treatment for it. so as per internet research i found out about intercostal strain so please help me out.
