I suspect I may have pinworms. My anus is really itchy (especially at night) and my vulva is itchy too. There are white bits in my stools, although I don't know for certain if they are worms in my stools. I have taken a mebendazole tablet today. However, I have some further questions I hope you can help me with: 1. Because I have taken this tablet, will the worms be expelled from me dead, or could they still come out alive? 2. Will the tablet make the worms come out quicker/ more often, so throughout the day rather than just at night or in my stools? 3. Please can you clarify - once the female lays the eggs on the anal area, does the female and the hatched eggs go back up inside? 4. I have seen things online re putting things like petroleum jelly and garlic on the anus to discourage the worms from coming out. Is this advisable? 5. Would you advise any natural remedies like Diatomaceous Earth or neem oil? 6. Is it advisable to exercise (e.g. go for a run) or does it make no difference?
