Sciatica is a symptom due to nerve irritation happening in the lower lumbar spine. The irritation causes shooting pain to radiate down the leg. The treatment lies in finding out the cause of the sciatica. Only symptomatic medications would not solve the issue. I would advice you to have a Lumbar Spine MRI and seek a Spine Specialist Consultation to take the treatment ahead
