I got my ankle sprained

Good moring, My right leg ankle got sprained while walking on road and it had got swelling.It had already been a week.It got reduced but not completely.Is it common when it's sprained or is there any problem? Do i need to consult orthopedic ? Please assist me what action to be taken.

Hi dear, It's normal to have swelling after ankle sprain. If it has reduced since it's beginning then nothing to worry about fracture but if still the same or increased then consult an Orthopedician.
Next Steps
Apply ice pack at that area after every 2-3 hours for 10-15 min. Also do some ankle exercises in gravity eliminating positions. Furthermore, you can take ankle brace to provide stability to the ankle.
Health Tips
Avoid using high heels sleeper or shoes. Use flats to wear. Avoid walking on uneven surfaces.
