2025-08-11 08:55:00
Hypopigmented patches on cheeks which are not vitiligo but have been there for many many months and during winters they become dry and patchy but recently they have become more prominent and noticeable. As you can see in the picture they are mildly hypopigmented and not vitiligo but they have become noticeable since a few months now. Earlier they used to be patchy only during winters but otherwise they were there but not noticeable. I use sunscreen and moisturiser of dot and key company and face cleanser of Cetaphil and face serum of minimalist of vitamin c.

The patches on your cheeks are not vitiligo but more likely pityriasis alba (a benign, dry-skin related condition). They become prominent in winters due to dryness. Regular use of a gentle cleanser, broad-spectrum sunscreen, and a thicker ceramide-based moisturizer will help. If they persist, use of topical agents prescribed by a dermatologist can speed up recovery.
