Hyponatremia caused by diabetes

My brother suffered from Hyponatremia and admitted in hospital. Can diabetes be the cause of HYPONATREMIA?

Yeah in diabetes a patient can have hyponatremia but usually thats Diabetic KetoAcidosis which can cause hyponatremia and that's per se pseudoHyponatremia . If your brother has been admitted with symptomatic hyponatremia then it's less likely that it's just because of diabetes . It's imp to look for all causes of it and rule them out . Yes as the blood sugar rises sodium levels decrease ..

Very high blood Glucose levels can cause pseudohyponatremia. It per se doesn't cause true hyponatremia.
