Hypoechoic Zone in Upper Uterus

2024-03-20 05:41:34
Me and my wife are planning for a child. We have visited our gynaecologist who prescribed the following tests: 1) For My Wife - Whole abdomen USG, CBC, Hba1c, TSH, PRh, AMH; 2) For Me - Semen Analysis Test. All our reports are ok, except in my wife's USG report the following thing was mentioned for Uterus: "Upper part of the uterine cavity appears divided by a hypoechoic zone. Impression - Arcuate(?) / Septate(?) Uterus." The plate shows a diffused horizontal band in TS. Previous USG reports/plates from 2023 and 2022 never had such mentions/characteristics. Does this point to something very serious?

3D usg or an mri is advisable to distinguish actuate from septate uterus .For septate uterus a surgical correction should be done depending on the type and thickness of septum

Arcuate and seprate uterus need to be differentiated. These can definitely be a problem for pregnancy. It can cause miscarriages. If there is a septum, it should be resected.
