How safe Cervical spine biopsies are?

Hello, Need a suggestion on cervical spine biopsies for c6-c7. We started empirical TB treatment for my mother based on MRI report using medication since 3 weeks.. no such side effects but pain seems to radiates from left hand to right hand.. do you suggest biopsy? In case yes, how safe it is because of location of the infection?
