It only spreads through specific body fluids such as: Blood Semen & pre-seminal fluid Vaginal fluids Rectal fluids Breast milk For transmission, these fluids must come into direct contact with another person’s bloodstream or mucous membranes (mouth, genital, rectal). So, coming in contact with stools of an HIV-infected person will not transmit  HIV, even if it accidentally touches your nose or mouth.
