I would like to know can HIV EIA method only detect antigens or is it detect both antibody as well as antigens? ?

Hello! ELISA stands for Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay and EIA stands for Enzyme ImmunoAssay. There is absolutely no difference between the two. Both are synonyms for the same antibody test. Nowadays the ELISA or EIA test used for HIV is the 4th generation Combo test. It detects antibody for HIV by ELISA, as well as the p24 antigen in the same
