My mother 86years old.Her one leg swelled.uric acid level in blood is 12.4.What could be the problem.Which doctor we have to consult?What happens if excess of medication?

Hello, raised uric acid can be due to gout or kidney failure. You need to consult a nephrologist or general medicine person. It needs to be kept in normal range or else will cause issues

A uric acid of 12.4 can suggest gout, but gout usually causes joint pain, not whole-leg swelling.This could be something serious like a blood clot or infection, which needs immediate medical evaluation.
