After my first uric acid stone when I checked my uric acid level it was at higher marigin 7.2. My urologist suggested febuxostat tablet which I took for 2 months with strict low purine diet plan. Now my uric acid level came down to 4.8. But my urologist is suggesting to take febuxostat for my lifetime. Is it advicable?

Hi  elevated uric acid might be due to increased uric acid production or decreased ability of kidney to clear preformed uric acid.. depending on cause treatment is decided....
