U need to know the reason behind your unsatisfactory sleep. Increased REM sleep is a symptom of depression. If there are other symptoms of depression then u should start an antidepressant and that'll improve your depressive symptoms which will in turn improve your sleep.
If you are not having any depressive symptoms and if the disturbance is just with sleep, u should take some medications like benzodiazepine or the Z drugs.
