High level of C reactive protein

My brother is suffering from fever and chills for last 12 days,he has been taking PCM,still the fever and chills recurring.Blood test was done and his C reactive protein levels is 139.7 mg/l and  the platlets counts are 136000 per ul and haemoglobin is 11.2 dr admitted him and administered the antibiotics through IV.After two days again took the blood test and now the C reactive protein level is 198 mg/l,platlets count is 116000 per ul and haemoglobin is 9.8.Kindly suggest what to do now.
