High hb1ac but normal glucose levels

2023-12-31 15:47:23
Hi, I am in my first trimester pregnancy and my hb1ac level is 6%. But fasting glucose and post prandial glucose levels are in range. Do I need to consult a physician and start medication or is it normal to have these values in pregnancy? Please suggest. Fasting glucose is 91 and post lunch glucose is 127.

It is still first trimester. So pls don't worry. Anyways do walk daily, avoid carbohydrate rich diet. Brisk walk 30 minutes per day.

This is very borderline in pregnancy and you have a high risk of GDM. Definitely need to eat healthy and not gain too much weight and stay active. Target in pregnancy - fasting < 100, 2 hour post meal less than 120. Keep an eye on your sugars
