Hi, increase intake of fiber in the diet through fruits, salads, dark green leafy vegetables. Reduce the fat usage in cooking. Opt for heart healthy oils like mustard or rice bran for cooking. Reduce the consumption of deep fried foods, sweets, pastries, cakes, ice creams, chips, namkeens and the like. Have a fist full of almonds and walnuts daily to increase good fat content which will help in reducing cholesterol levels. 2 spoons of flax seed powder daily will also help.
