Reflux of acid and/or food up into the Esophagus can cause chest pain. To confirm this, you will need further tests: 1. Esophageal Manometry 2. 24 hour pH. These are mostly done by Medical Gastroenterologists. If the diagnosis is confirmed then the cause (Hiatus hernia) can be repaired with surgery which is done Laparoscopic or robotically.
