Hi, My son had his blood test done in July last year his blood reports showed ferritin as 21 (reference reports with blue colour highlight). And the second reports are 3 months old. Does he need a blood transfusion as his blood is only 3. He is carrying thalassemia trait from his father so his iron will be low but I am worried does he need a tranfusion(recent reports attached). Reports from London Thanks,

Haemoglobin is 10.2 and 10.4… There won’t be need for transfusion for this level of Hb.
