Let me tell you something : Combined OCPs are the First line drug of choice for management of heavy menstrual bleeding ( it's even more helpful if your cycles are irregular ) as Low dose OCPs are not associated with very much high risk of venous thromboembolic phenomenon but still we avoid it in patients having history of Stroke/DM/DVT which clearly you are not having .
Rather OCPs protect you against ovarian ca , Endometrial ca both
