Hearing loss and tinnitus.
I had a hearing test done 8 days after I was diagnosed with acute otitis media. I had bilateral moderate mixed hearing loss. Infection subsided in 14 days from the day of diagnosis. I got another hearing test done after 3 weeks from the day of diagnosis and it showed bilateral minimal conductive hearing loss. How is it possible? My doctor says I'm having tinnitus due to negative ETD. As I yawn or swallow, I hear loud crackling noise from my left ear. What's the solution?
Acute otitis media will cause hearing loss which is conductive. I doubt the validity of report which said that you have mixed hearing loss. In any case usually hearing improves after treatment and for few days to week you will have symptoms of eustachian tube dysfunction which usually resolves spontaneously
