A headache that comes on specifically when you bend your neck downward for a few minutes is very commonly caused by cervical spondylosis or postural strain of the neck muscles — the cervical spine and its surrounding muscles come under increased pressure in this position, triggering pain that is felt as a headache. This is increasingly common with prolonged mobile phone and laptop use, which habitually keep the neck bent forward. Avoiding prolonged neck bending, maintaining good posture, and doing gentle neck stretching exercises daily can significantly help relieve this.
Next Steps
Please consult a physician who may advise a cervical spine X-ray to check for any spondylosis. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.

Headache that occurs when you keep your neck bent down for a few minutes is commonly due to neck muscle strain, poor posture, cervical spondylosis, or tension headache. Avoid prolonged neck bending (mobile/laptop use), maintain good posture, and do gentle neck stretching exercises. Please consult a doctor if the headache is severe, worsening, associated with dizziness, vision changes, numbness, weakness, fever, or if it persists despite posture correction.
