Headache in back side

My wife has been experiencing persistent headaches at the back of her head for the past few weeks. Could you recommend a medication to alleviate this, or could it possibly be indicative of a migraine? Your advice would be appreciated.

Migraine typically affects one side of the the head, although it can cause headaches in the back of the head as well. Before treating her for migraine (with paracetamol/sumatriptan/flunarizine etc), it is recommended she consult a Neurologist to rule out other causes of occipital/suboccipital headache. This may include imaging of the brain, at the discretion of her physician.
