I was found positive for diabetes about 1 and half month ago and at that time my fasting sugar was at 163 and after meal 271. Since then am continously following low GI diet which helped me reduce my fasting sugar to 122 as per glauco meter (Dr. Morepen). And meal was at 170. About 1.5 weeks ago. Today I checked my fasting sugar and it was at 126. I wanted to know should I just keep on following the way am managing the same or need to go on medication. To bring it further down.

As u have maintained diet well ur blood glucose has come down. U need to follow the same with regular exercise and healthy lifestyle. If u are over weight need to reduce the weight. As long as sugars remain in normal levels no need to start medicines. But that dosent mean u are non diabetic. Target sugar is FBS 120, PPBS 140 and HBA1c

Check ur HbA1C after 3 months of this diet. If it’s less than 6.5 medicines are not necessary
