Hello doc My dad is suffering from CAD,HTN ,DM . Recently he checked his hb levels which were 9.4 gm/dL. What fruits and vegetables is best for diabetic patient whose iron levels are low?

Hello As I’m missing complete information about your dads age height & weight I can only suggest IV injections to uplift the iron levels immediately and oral supplements are wasted more than they are absorbed

Good afternoon Here I am mentioning some foods which are low GI  and also iron rice,mainly  your Father is a diabetic,based on her GRBS u can give some fruits and vegetables

Firstly he is anemic so you can give some iron rich foods like fruits -pomegranate,guava,and dried dates. vegetables- carrot, beetroot,green leafy vegetables and there are some foods like ragi,sheep liver,pumpkin seeds,and rice flakes. above mentioned foods are including their diet regularly at limited quantity

no juices restrict the coffee and tea intake more than 2 times a day and mainly taking with mewl including citrus fruits with meals helps in better absorption of iron

Good morning For diabetic patients fruits and vegetables are helpful Iron fortified breads and cereals Beans and lentils Green leafy vegetables especially spinach Tofu Red meat fish Dried fruits like prune, raisins and apricots are good sources of iron. 100 gm prune contains 0.93 mg of iron while raisins contain 2.6 mg iron apricot have 6.3 mg of iron per 100 gm Prune also helps digestion and lower cholesterol levels in our body.
