Handling depression

My husband lost job almost 10yrs back due to some offi e politics. He didn't continue his work after that. Post that he has started showing high ego, started thinking no one gives him any value etcetc. Things settled post sometime. He started showing symptoms of depression again when his close friend and family migrated to another country. He lost hope on ppl. Started blaming others for not being there with him for even small things. He threatens of commiting Suicide when I dont agree for things. He doesn't get engaged on any regular work, tried different ways, he is not getting involved. Need help on what to be done and how to go forward on this. Thank you.

Hello! Helping a loved one with depression can sometimes be frustrating for the family. Multiple dissapointments over 10 years may be adding to his depression. However feeling suicidal should not be ignored and he needs to see a mental health professional at the earliest.

Consult a psychiatrist asap. If he doesn't agree, visit general physicians who can also prescribe antidepressants
