Guidance on avoiding pregnancy

Hi. I have PCOS and I’ve been on medication for a long time. Recently, I did not get my period after stopping a regular medication on doctors advice, then I was given regestrone For the period to commence again. I did get my period on Feb 9th. So after the closure of the previous medication my Doctor asked me to take Dydrofem 10 mg from the 16th day. Today is the 16th day and I’ve had unprotected sex. I am not planning on pregnancy. So would it be safe for me to take dydrofem? Or should I take contraceptive? Need some direction.
