I am 36 year old male, currently having grade 4 thrombosed external hemorrhoids. i dont have any rectal bleeding or stool bleeding. i went to a local general surgeon, he recommended me surgery but did not tell me which way surgery would be done. he said i will get discharge after 4 days and i will have to get admitted a day before surgery, total 6 days stay in hospital. does grade 4 external hemorrhoids surgery need 6 day long stay in hospital? are there other surgery option which can lessen my hospital stay?

Maximum of 2 to 3 days is enough.. but why ur surgeon recommended 6 days .. I am not sure.. maybe if it is infected or very large he might have suggested to get IV antibiotics for prolonged periods of time.. u should ask this question to ur surgeon again maybe

surgery is only option but its not emergency and it doesnt mean that you can wait too long but for this surgery long term hospital stay is not needed there are two type open and mininal invasive surgery better to go for minimal invasive called as MIPH for less stay
