Blood pressure spikes with anxiety are common and usually settle once the anxious episode passes. Propranolol is often used for this, but switching to a different tablet, or choosing the dose and how long to take it, needs to be decided by whoever is treating you, not on your own.
Next Steps
Check with your doctor or pharmacist for a suitable alternative if Ciplar LA isn't available, since they can guide the right dose and duration safely. Slow breathing and resting calmly can also help bring a spike down meanwhile.
Health Tips
If your blood pressure reading stays very high, or you feel faint, breathless, or generally unwell, please seek care the same day.
