Hello,
Unlike
Kidney stones (depending on type and size) gall bladder stones (Medical term for which is 'Cholelithiasis' )can not be thrown out of body nor do they dissolve.
Although, if your father is not having fever, excessive acidity, vomiting, abdominal pain, jaundice - the signs which indicate that they are causing obstruction and or infection in Gall bladder,
liver or bile duct you may choose not to go for any surgery depending on the number, location and size of stones.
Please consult a General Surgeon for examination and discussing further line of management for your father.
