Frequent Urge to go for Stool Evacuation

2026-04-20 22:17:23
I have a problem with bowel movements. I pass stool, feel done, but within a short time (sometimes immediately) I get the urge again and pass some more stool. This happens 2–4 times, as if evacuation is incomplete in one go. No blood, no severe pain. Stool is not very hard. Is this IBS, mild constipation, or an evacuation issue? Should I use lactulose or psyllium — which is better in this case?

Most likely incomplete evacuation / rectal hypersensitivity (common in mild IBS or early constipation pattern) Not serious if no blood / weight loss / pain . Advice • Start psyllium husk (Isabgol) at night  • Avoid jumping to lactulose (can cause gas, urgency) • Adequate water + fiber + fixed toilet timing • Don’t strain / don’t rush
