My mother has met with an accident today and I’m x Ray we found that her 3 lower back ribs (R) are fractured, Local doctor has confirmed that there is no damage to other internal organs. I wanted to know how critical it is and what precautions we should take to cure it properly.

It should be manged symptomatically. If she doesn't have breathing problems, then manage pain.

Hello. Rib fractures take time to heal since there is continuous movement while breathing, coughing , sneezing etc. There may be discomfort lasting almost for 3-4 weeks. You should make her wear the rib binder as they may have suggested and avoid sleeping on the right side. If there is any cough, cold; it has to be tackled too so as to minimize the pain and help faster recovery.
